100th Post!

I said I was going to do something special for my 100th post, and I got this idea from my high school friend, Rebecca, at our 10 year high school reunion.

Not-Quite-Chef-Yet Top 10 Recipes

At the suggestion of my wonderful, supportive husband (then boyfriend), I started this blog April 19, 2011, almost exactly 2 years before our wedding.  Below are our top 10 favorites from the blog (and they are links to the recipe).

10) Chicken A La Merr

Every year that we have been together Derrick cooks an amazing dinner for me on Valentine's Day.  I love that he does this special thing for me each year and we get to spend this holiday together drinking wine, eating delicious food, and not fighting the crowds at restaurants.  Derrick found this recipe after we had it at Jazz and made it for our second Valentine's Day together.  It is New Orleans style creamy, seafood deliciousness!

9) So Long's Raspberry Chipotle Black Bean Dip

This popular appetizer is from one of the most delicious Aggieville restaurants.

8)Best Soup - Tie
Crock Pot Potato Soup

This is Derrick's favorite soup.  It is so easy because it cooks in the crock pot all day.

Broccoli Cheese Soup (Mrs. J)

This is my favorite soup - it's better than Panera's!

7) Best Dessert - Tie
Mrs. Field's Chocolate Chip Cookies

When Michelle made these for us, Derrick loved them, so I have started making them.  What I love about them is how soft and chewy they are.

Brownie Pudding

This is my absolute favorite dessert.  It is extremely rich and chocolaty!

6) Thai Chicken Pizza
Another easy weeknight dinner that we love!  Impressive for guests, too.

5) Derrick's Amazing French Toast

I will never forget the morning Derrick suggested we make this recipe he had found one of our rare days off together back in the beginning when he used to work weekends.

4) Crab Topped Tilapia

The first recipe on the blog also makes the Top 10.  This easy dinner tastes restaurant-quality.

3) Shrimp Pad Thai

Derrick requests this all the time.  He found the recipe on the internet one night we were trying to think of something to make for dinner.  Perfect blend of shrimp and peanuty flavor.

2) Tilapia Tacos with Mango Avocado Salsa

I am crazy about this recipe.  I crave it all the time.  Fresh and summery.

1) Sushi

Our favorite food - and we can save tons of money by making it at home.  It's also a super fun activity to do with friends.
