Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Derrick loves Red Lobster's biscuits, so when I saw this recipe on Pinterest, I pinned it immediately.  That was quite a while ago, however.  Surprisingly, some wedding events got in the way of me trying new recipes and blogging about them...  But I have a new goal to try one new recipe a per week and add it to this blog!  Stay tuned...

Derrick loved these biscuits.  I like that you can taste the cheesiness.  I made pasta with a creamy tomato sauce to go with them.  He said they are definitely a recipe to make again!

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1 cup Cheddar cheese, finely grated
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

For garlic-butter glaze:
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Combine Bisquick with cheese, milk, 2 tablespoons butter, and 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder.  Mix by hand until well combined.

Drop approximately 1/4 cup portions of the dough on a greased cookie sheet.  You should have enough to make 12 biscuits.

Combine 1/4 cup butter with 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and parsley flakes.  Brush this mixture over the tops of each unbaked biscuit.

Bake 10-14 minutes or until the tops of the biscuits begin to turn light brown.  Serve warm.

Red Velvet Cookie Sandwiches

A student teacher at our school brought these cookies several years ago.  Since then I have made them for Royals tailgating and the lake.  I had not realized they never made the blog!  Most recently I made them for Derrick's bachelor party at the lake.  He assured me that they did not last long...

You can make them with any flavor of cake mix and icing, but I have only ever tried the red velvet cake mix with cream cheese icing.  If you like red velvet, you will love these.

Ingredients:
1 cake mix (any flavor)
2 eggs
1 stick butter, melted
Icing (cream cheese flavored)
Mix everything except the icing by hand.  Roll into small balls.  Bake at 350 degrees only 10 minutes.  9 minutes in convection oven.

After they cool add frosting to the middles and combine to make sandwiches.
