Whew. That's a long name. My sister-in-law sent me this recipe which I tweaked a little bit. This photo is courtesy of Marcie which was taken in her glamorous Las Vegas home. She said it kept her full until lunch which is just what I needed, so I gave it a try. It is delicious - so creamy. Now I crave it each morning. I've been making a double batch and sending Derrick to work with one, too. I like how all the ingredients are pure - there isn't any protein powder with a bunch of preservatives. Even without any of that powder, the protein count is very high from the Greek yogurt and nuts which along with the oatmeal is what keeps you full so long. I also want to try adding other high-antioxidant berries such as blueberries and blackberries and fresh spinach which adds nutrients without altering the flavor.
1 banana
1/3 - 1/2 cup oatmeal (cooked or uncooked - I use uncooked)
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
2-3 tablespoons natural peanut butter OR 1/3 cup almonds
4 whole strawberries, fresh or frozen (I use frozen which makes it more icy)
2 teaspoons honey
1/3-1/2 cup milk (whichever milk you prefer - nondairy or dairy)
ice cubes
Blend it up!
