I have not posted in awhile - truth is I lost my camera the night of the Spicy Chicken Pasta! I was devestated! I LOVE this camera, and Derrick gave it to me for my birthday!! I didn't have it for our Dallas trip or anything. We tore our house a part and thought it was gone forever. Luckily, it appeared in a dresser drawer between two pairs of pants. I might add that I had checked this drawer about three times prior to the camera turning up. I am extremely thankful to have my wonderful camera back! However, I am not sure where the picture for this recipe is, so I'll have to post without. :)
I found this cake on Pinterest, and made it for Derrick New Years Eve morning. It is extremely rich. I ate two whole pieces which was a bad idea. It is delicious, though! It actually tastes like a cinnamon roll! I halved the recipe and baked it in an 8 by 8 inch pan. Happy New Year!
Cake:
3 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 cups milk
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup butter, melted
Topping:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon cinnamon
Glaze:
2 cups powdered sugar
5 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix all cake ingredients except for butter. Slowly stir in the melted butter and pour into a greased 9x13 pan. For the topping, mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Drop evenly over the batter and swirl with a knife. Bake at 350 degrees for 28-32 minutes. In our convection oven I baked it for 26 minutes. Mix ingredients for glaze and drizzle over cake while still warm.
